Nordoku works without an account or an internet connection. The app does not send your gameplay data to its publisher. It contains no advertising, analytics or tracking.

Data stored on your device

Settings, your saved game, game statistics, daily challenge results, and lesson and technique progress are stored on your device. The app also keeps local puzzle and practice caches. This information lets you continue playing and receive a suggested next exercise.

Backups

You can export your data to a backup file and choose where to save or share it. It contains your gameplay and learning progress and settings. Nordoku does not upload it to a server. Your operating system may back up app data according to your device settings.

iCloud sync

When iCloud sync is on (the default), your settings (except text size), unfinished puzzle, statistics, daily challenge results and learning progress are also stored in iCloud under your Apple Account so they reach your other devices. This data travels through Apple’s service and is not visible to the publisher. You can turn sync off in Settings.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily challenge reminder, the app asks for permission to send notifications and schedules them on your device. Reminders are created locally and no data is sent anywhere for them. You can turn them off in the app’s Settings or in the device’s notification settings.

Purchases

The one-time full version purchase is handled by Apple’s App Store. The publisher does not receive your payment or personal details; the app only checks whether the full version has been purchased.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Apple’s Game Center, Nordoku reports your solving times, number of solved games, longest daily streak and achievements to it for leaderboards. Game Center is Apple’s service, and this data is handled under Apple’s terms and your Game Center settings. The publisher does not receive it. You can sign out of Game Center in the device Settings.

Widget

The home screen widget shows your daily streak and learning progress. The data is shared between the app and the widget on this device only.

Retention and deletion

Your data remains until you delete it using Delete local data in Settings or remove the app. With sync on, you can delete from this device only (which also turns sync off on this device) or from all your devices and iCloud. Removing the app may erase your progress. Exported files and operating system backups must be deleted separately from their storage locations.

Support and external pages

This privacy policy is available offline. If you visit a public support page or send a support message, you choose what to share. The website hosting provider may process standard connection logs. Nordoku does not automatically send support messages or backups.

Scanning with the camera or a photo

The camera is used only when you choose to scan your own puzzle. You can also choose an existing photo or screenshot from your photo library; the app receives only the picture you pick, not access to the whole library. The image is processed on your device to recognize digits; it is not saved or uploaded. Recognized digits form an editable local draft. If you start playing, the unfinished puzzle may sync to iCloud according to your sync setting.
